The Ponte Vecchio is the main attraction in Firenze (Florence) Italy. The world considers Firenze to be the center of art (il Centro dell Arte) - I have to agree ! This bridge has a colorful history but now is the home to a very high-end jewelry shop.... the best for the best. It sure looks like this piece of wood we found in the Maldives has a colorful history as well. To me it was a step or small platform on an old wood boat. It still has the one cross support for the boards but the other has been ripped off at some point - who knows - maybe by a shark ! It has some interesting stains and aging colors on the backside - which I left on - as it definitely adds character. Still a very solid and somewhat heavy piece.
